(Expert From Site)
Purist Organics was established in 2017 in response to the ongoing ‘green washing’ of the beauty industry after searching far and wide for the cure to my own skin issues. This is what inspires us to ensure all of our products remain 100% safe. It is our believe that skincare should be natural and fun. Our purpose is to transform the way you approach skincare.
By providing all-natural, herbal, and plant-based alternatives to traditionally used synthetic skincare. It is our believe that we can truly change the way your skin looks and feels simply by using ingredients that are found in nature.
HOW WE MET
With the way the Purist Turmeric soap impressed me (review soon). I decided had to give their other products a try. And the next on my list was the Secretion Naked and Mint Lip Balm.
The Naked and Mint comes in a basic Chapstick tube, with the name boldly written and the purist logo just above it. Other information such as the directions and ingredients are on the other side of the roll. It’s very small which makes it very easy to carry about but generally, I find the packaging average, especially the roll-out mechanism(feels a bit fragile).
INGREDIENTS (As seen)
Avocado Oil, Natural Beeswax, Avocado Butter, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond, Apricot Kernel, Vitamin E, Mint Essential Oil.
Massive Green Lights!
It has a strong minty fragrance, which doesn’t wear off easily. The intensity might reduce after about an hour but trust me when I say it never completely fades. I find this a good thing, but it’s up to you to decide if you do too.
Appearance-wise, it doesn’t leave any tint on your lips. Which I think is obvious from the name ‘naked’. Besides a slight sheen on your lips, it’s pretty plain and all. This is good if you’re looking for a simple balm or a light base to layer on your lipstick or gloss.
It has a smooth application, not too much stress, as it should be. What surprised me most, although it really shouldn’t have, was the tingly feeling on my lips. I mean it clearly had ‘mint’ in its name so I should have expected the strong tingling feeling that comes with mint. So, you should expect it too.
Before I’ve mentioned using your balm as an overnight mask, but if you want to use this for that purpose, you’d have to use an excessive amount of product. I say this because, although it applies easily, it comes out lightly. I don’t know if you get what I mean. If you want an extra thick layer for that purpose, you’d have a lot of rubbing to do.
The Purist Secretion Naked and Mint Lip balm last up to 4 hours and more during the day (I tested it). It lasts a lot longer at night too (test it with the same amount I put in the day). So that’s a fantastic thing! I’m not dissing or anything, but my Nivea couldn’t last this long.
My lips stay moisturized for a very long time, even when it’s like it seems like it’s dried out, your lips still feel moisturized. And the mint fragrance is a plus for me o, fresh and moisturized.
My top lip balm has always been the one by Forever Living. Vaseline Lip Therapy came close but there was something off I couldn’t place so it didn’t cut it for me. Purist Secretion Naked and Mint isn’t replacing Forever for me yet, but it came extremely close.
It’s a very good balm, I mean very good, and it’s worth the money for real. Just 500 naira. It’s an excellent addition to your lip care routine. Personally, I love the purist range. I’d recommend any of their products, especially the turmeric soap, which I use. I’ll be doing a review on that soon.
